You can search the site by entering a word in the search box. There may be more than one picture of a ship in which case I suggest you use the yellow navigation arrows above the picture. Because I am always updating the site, sometimes the search results will not reflect exactly what is on the site due to Google having not updated all the latest pages and sometimes the results may return ‘page not available’ if I have recently changed the page numbers. You may find it easier if you set your browser preferences to open results in a new window.
Apart from ships you can search for pictures of Hovercraft, Flying Boats, Seaplanes, Hydrofoils, Old Ports and Docks, Harbours, Shipyards, Piers, Canals, Rivers and other maritime related pictures.
You need to enter the exact spelling as it appears on the site. However you can enter parts of name for example, entering ‘Star’ will direct you to areas of the site with ‘Star’ as part of the name. You can also search for naval ship pennant numbers and fishing boat registration numbers.
For further results click ‘repeat the search with the omitted results included’ if it appears at the bottom of the results page.
